The Vinologist’s journey to make a “Wine with Origin” Rosé, leads him to the Swartland. This hot and dry region sees Cinsault and Syrah championing over the elements to produce quality grapes for fresh, approachable Rosé wine. The Cinsault vineyards carry bountiful bunches, which are optimal for the perfect ratio of skin-to-juice. With only a mere hours’ skin-contact on the Cinsault and minimal intervention during fermentation, the Vinologist blends a portion of high quality, saignée-method Syrah for added complexity and structure. This lively Rosé delivers the personality of the Swartland.

Tasting Note

The wine is bright with a vibrant, classical oeil de perdrix appearance. The nose shows an abundance of red berry fruit with aromas of cranberry, fresh cherry, green plums, cucumber and attractive whiffs of spice. Flavours of white peach, ripe plums and pimento olives dominate a structured, medium-bodied palate with a pithy texture and the cherry fruit of the nose following through with hints of aniseed, fenugreek and cumin. The mid-palate is elegant and pure, with integrated acidity and a fine structure.  Wild berries, watermelon and white pepper, linger on a zesty finish.
